Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have.

It’s quite sad that in a country founded on freedom and limited government, where the people once opposed even a standing army during times of peace, so many of our fellow Americans believe that it is the duty of the government to give them everything. Somehow, everyone became entitled to everything and they expect someone to give it to them. You hear it a lot today especially with liberals who think healthcare is a right and that the government should provide it for them. Well no one likes an Indian giver, so why then would you want the government to give you anything? Welfare and entitlements that drive up the debt with insane spending and taxes does not equal good government.  There’s a quote that has been attributed to a lot of people, from Thomas Paine to Henry David Thoreau , and that is “that government is best which governs least”. And that’s a true statement; the less the incompetent people in Washington do, the better off we’ll all be and we’d enjoy much greater freedom.
